NGC 2403, a face-on spiral galaxy in the constellation Camelopardalis, is a member one of the M81 group of galaxies. Although a conspicuous galaxy it was missed by Charles messier when he compiled his catalogue and its discivery is attributed to William Herschel (in 1788).
