1. Three stages towards getting speakers and members back to ACC.- KP

2. Dependency of the speaker programme on our plans to return to ACC. – KP

Speaker programme depends on whether speaker is at ACC or remote via Zoom currently only arranging next three months.

July – Colin Stuart – Sun’s Greatest Mysteries

Aug – Richard Pomeroy – Black Holes

Sep – Mark Norris – Latest on Galaxy Formation

Action: Confirm August speaker – KP

Action: Book October speaker via Zoom – KP

3. ACC’s current position and applicable COVID rules. – JR.

Masks required except when seated. Bar service an payments at tables.  2m between seats

ACC currently has approval for pods of people around around tables which would be difficult for monthly meetings.

ACC currently does not have approval for rows of seats

Suggest 17 Aug trial for limited number of members

But need to await 21st June Government decision.

Action: Maintain contact with ACC to determine latest status.  – JR

4. Result of the Zoom 3G/4G hotspot communications test – DT.

Action – Check 3G/4G coverage at ACC – DT

5. Review of latest COVID statistics – KP.

Trend of infections is rising which largely appears to be due to the Delta variant which is more infectious.

Hospital cases remain fairly static

6. ACC double booked for August 10th – JR/KP.

13th July meeting via Zoom

14th September meeting using Stage 1 (see above)

12th October meeting speaker via Zoom

Action:  Possible mock meeting on 17th August at ACC.

7. Decision on when we might start trail meetings – All

8. List of actions that we need to progress over the coming months.

    1. Visiting ACC and thinking about seating plans, entrance and exit procedures, access to toilets, etc.
    2. Writing up an outline set of COVID secure procedures.
    3. Testing wireless networks at ACC and 3G/4G internet access and Zoom.
    4. Figuring out how we broadcast a talk from ACC
    5. Is the ACC bar open? .
